These are the most common NDIS terms and acronyms used that will be helpful for you to know:

Being plan managed under the NDIS means that a registered plan management provider, like Your People Plan Management, handles the administrative tasks related to your NDIS funding.
We take care of paying invoices and storing receipts, relieving you from the hassle of managing these processes through the NDIS MyPlace Portal or keeping track of receipts and records.
With a plan manager, you have the flexibility to choose service providers whether they are registered or not with the NDIS.
This arrangement provides convenience, support, and the freedom to focus on accessing the services that best meet your needs and preferences.

Being plan managed under the NDIS means that you will not have any out-of-pocket plan management expenses.
When you express your preference for plan management during your planning meeting with the NDIA Planner or LAC, they will allocate an Improved Life Choices budget in your plan.
This budget covers the costs associated with plan management, including the initial setup fee, ongoing support, and monthly fees.
These fees are predetermined and are covered by your NDIS funding ensuring that you do not need to pay them directly.
Plan management offers financial support and eliminates the need for you to handle expenses personally, allowing you to focus on utilizing your funding to access the supports and services that enhance your quality of life.

To be eligible for plan management under the NDIS, it is necessary to have the category of 'Improved Life Choices' included in your NDIS plan.
If you have an upcoming planning meeting or plan review, be sure to request the inclusion of 'Improved Life Choices' in your plan.
This category covers all the fees associated with plan management, ensuring that you won't have any expenses to pay out of pocket.
In case your current NDIS plan does not already include 'Improved Life Choices,' but you would like to have plan management, you can request a review of your plan.
It's important to keep in mind that plan reviews may take some time to be processed, so there may be a delay in implementing plan management if a review is required.
By ensuring that 'Improved Life Choices' is added to your NDIS plan, you can access the benefits of plan management without any financial burden, as all the costs will be covered through your plan.

The NDIS provides funding for supports that are considered "reasonable and necessary." These supports are goods or services that directly contribute to achieving the specific goals and objectives outlined in your NDIS plan.
It's important to note that the NDIS is unlikely to approve claims that are not directly related to a participant's disability. This includes expenses that are considered universal or day-to-day living costs, entertainment, food, support items already covered by other government funding schemes (such as education or Medicare), items that do not offer value for money, and items that may pose a risk of harm to the participant or others.
The NDIS funding is specifically allocated to meet the unique needs and requirements arising from your disability, ensuring that the supports provided align with your goals and aspirations. Claims for supports must demonstrate a clear connection to your disability and the pursuit of your NDIS plan objectives in order to be considered for approval.

If you already have specific service providers in mind that you would like to work with, that's great!
Our process is designed to be simple and flexible, allowing us to collaborate with nearly any provider as long as they have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and the goods or services they offer meet the NDIA's definition of "reasonable and necessary."
If, at any point, you are not satisfied with your current services and wish to switch to a different provider, you can simply find a new provider and provide them with a 'New Provider Letter.' Our Relationships Team will also check in with you periodically to ensure that your spending and services are aligned with your plan and on track.????
Our aim is to provide you with the flexibility and support you need to work with your chosen providers or explore new options, ensuring that your NDIS funding is utilized effectively to meet your goals and needs.

No, plan management fees are allocated specifically for plan management services and are paid by the NDIA so there is no impact on you and it doesn’t come out of any of your therapy funding. The monthly plan management fee is a flat rate of $104.45 per month regardless of how much work is done. It’s kinda like a subscription to Netflix, some months you may only watch a show or two while other months you binge all the latest hit shows and movies - regardless of how much or how little you watch, the subscription fee is covered and they are ready to provide you services when needed.
